Definitely feels like a downgrade from Egg Hunt 2018, but realistically likely because of nostalgia blindness. That said, the decision to not have 3D character interactables in the world felt rather off and significantly broke it feeling like a true sequel to Egg Hunt 2018.

It never really was supposed to be to be a true sequel, the devs said it themselves. Sure, they definitely took some things from the original game, but it was more of just a spiritual sequel rather than a continuation of the original story
